Wedding Dresses - Three helpful tips for finding that special dress

1, Bring your closet family and friends they will give you a honest answer if they like that dress you have on.

2, Make a appointment most of the bridal shops only work by appointment only so they can give you their undivided attention.

3, Think about what kind of wedding you are having city, country, beach wedding. Depending of what kind of wedding you are going to have you might want to pick a different dress. Here are some samples.

Top three tips for planning an engagement shoot

Schedule you shoot a hour before golden hour. This way you can have two kind of lighting photos one with sunny day light and after that you’ll have beautiful golden hour and after golden hour there is blue hour before the sky turns black.

Maybe bring two outfits with you to change up the style a little.

Photographing at night with street lights can lead to some very romantic photos.

White Cliff Country Club in Plymouth Massachusetts is one of the most beautiful places for photos down on the beach. Also might I also add the elevator is a lot of run to ride down from the cliff to the beach makes you feel like a little kid inside.

Langham Hotel Boston, Massachusetts Wedding Photography

Langham Hotel in Boston is a beautiful luxurious hotel.

The down stairs restaurant reminded me of the movie Casablanca and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom at the beginning of the movie in the Chinese restaurant. The restaurant downstairs is not a Chinese restaurant, but it feels like you stepped out of a time machine from the 1930's and walked right into a movie set.  The room also has the feeling from the movie Goodfellas with the way the lighting is. I kind of felt like Doctor Who from the TV show when I stepped out of the elevator and saw the restaurant my jaw dropped.

The staff there is very polite and this is a huge plus when thinking about finding a reception place for your wedding. Plus you can't beat the amazing air condition they have just something to think about on those hot summer wedding days.

Lakeview Pavilion Wedding Photography Foxborough, Massachusetts

So are some many things I can say about Lakeview Pavilion in Foxborough Mass but I'm just going to keep it simple its AMAZING!!!

Lakeview Pavilion can hold two weddings. I had the privilege of photography a wedding on the left side of the building.  The first thing that jumps into a mind of a photographer is everything is white and his is great because we photographers love bouncing flash. The place is built for photographers in mind and its like one big giant photo studio.

Also Lakeview Pavilion kind of has that James Bond feel to it. Its one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding. The bar side like I said before just gives off the James Bond vibe kind of like a ice bar from the James Bond movie Die Another Day.

The deck at Lakeview Pavilion is really nice for cocktail hour and cocktail hour is one of my favorite times to get candids of friends and family.

Lyman Estate Greenhouse Wedding Photography Waltham, Massachusetts

I had the honor of attending the Lyman Estate Greenhouse for a two weddings once as a guest and once as a wedding photographer. And the two times I've been at the Lyman Estate Greenhouse I had a absolute blast.

If you want your wedding outdoors there is a lot of grounds to set up a tent. Or if you want to have your wedding indoors there is the main room and extra rooms for even more guest plus indoors in the summer they have air conditioning. Also there is plenty of parking for everyone.

Cocktail hour is one of my favorite times to grab candids of the bride and groom and family and friends chit chatting.  Also the house will give you shade in the back for cocktail hour as the sun will be facing the front of the house. Just something to think about for those summer time weddings.

Hampshire House Wedding Photography Boston, Massachusetts

I had the great pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Hampshire House that is right about the Cheers Beacon Hill downtown Boston.

The Hampshire House is one of my favorite places in all of New England for a small intimate wedding for about thirty people. 

What's great about the Hampshire House is everything is all in one place. Getting read is on the top floor and the ceremony is on the second floor above Cheers. Right after the ceremony is a great time step across the street to the Boston Public Garden do some nice formals and get some romantic photos of the bride and groom. When you go back to the Hampshire House the the room will be ready the reception and the food is amazing at the Hampshire House to say the least and then its time to get down and dance the night away.

Gore Place Wedding Waltham, Massachusetts Wedding Photography

Very early in my career I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding at Gore Place The Historic Governor Gore Estate in Waltham Massachusetts.

What's great about Gore Place is that is very close to Boston. Parking is also very good at Gore Place and that's always a plus with a lot of family and friends coming to your wedding.

If you love candids and photojournalism Gore Place is a great place to have your wedding.  Grounds are very nice with a lot of room for people to walk around and chit chat and have some fun at cocktail hour and that's one of the best times to get beautiful candids with friends and family.

Sorry for no photos I was at the Gore Place early in my career before I was using digital cameras. I have to scan all my old negatives.
